Here’s our choice of the top ten restaurants and eateries in Dublin
Burdocks
if
you want to experience what Dubliners have been eating for years on end,
check out Leo Burdocks in Werberg Street. This is a landmark where there
is always a queue and well worth the wait. Its a take away but if you head
back up to Dame street you can sit down in a tiny little square and feed
the pidgeons whilst you sample this delicious food. Not for those who dislike
greasy food. Only about a 10 minute walk from the hostel – right beside
Christchurch Cathedral. Price – roughly €5 to €7 for fish
and chips
Beschoffs
Slightly
larger than Burdocks with a sitdown option. A bit more commercial than Burdocks
with a few branches round Dublin but they still serve fresh fish daily and
serve the proper chunky real potato chips. If you’ve got a hunger for
the grease not a bad choice. Near O’Connell Bridge on Westmoreland
Street. About a 15 minute walk from the hostel.

walk down Aungier Street. This Dublin restaurant serves "Govinda's
Special" daily that includes a feast of vegetables tastefully prepared
and served with basmati rice and salad. The Dish of the Day changes and
includes healthy options like Moussaka, Lasagne, Sheperds Pie and Gauranga
Potatoes (golden bake potato). The Veggie Burger is always a popular option
and can be made to suit Vegans on request. Staff favourite is the take
away tray for just €7. Visit webste:www.govindas.ie
Cafe Bar Deli (One of our top choices)
Main courses are about €9 to €15. Very highly regarded if you
fancy a good quality reasonably priced meal. It’s five minutes walk
from the hostel on Georges Street. They have another branch on Grafton Street
in what was formerly ‘Bewleys’, one of Dublins most famous café’s.
In the Grafton street branch there is also ‘Mackerel’ which is
a more upmarket fish restaurant. If you fancy treating yourself and you’re
a fan of fish, or even if you’re not, this spot is excellent. Main
courses are about €20 to €25 and the cuisine and location are superb.
